The research arm of the Department of Family Medicine of uOttawa is the C.T. Lamont Primary Health Care Research Centre (CTLC), a Centre within the Élisabeth Bruyère Research Institute (EBRI). The Centre was established in 2000 thanks to a generous donation from Dr. Campbell T. Lamont, a former Chair of the Department of Family Medicine, uOttawa (1975-1981).

The Centre provides empirical evidence to support decision makers in shaping primary health care locally, provincially and nationally. The Centre is one of the largest primary health care research centres in Canada. Its location in Canada’s capital also offers great opportunities for developing leaders in health services research and amplifies the Centre’s ability to influence decision makers and health care policy.
