Essential Teaching Skills (ETS) is a series of professional development workshops intended to help preceptors become better teachers. Each of the workshops are CME-certified by the Canadian College of Family Physicians (CCFP) for Mainpro credit. Each workshop consists of a four-hour face-to-face workshop with active discussion and activities, followed by a three-month reflection on practice.

The ETS participant guides are available in three formats:
- eBook format for the iPad. This version is accessible using the iBooks app on the iPad and iBooks on the Mac.
- Electronic PDF. This version can be used on any computer and most tablets.
- Printed PDF.
We recommend that you use either the eBook or Electronic PDF format, as these versions provide active hyperlinks to all the resource material. In addition, the eBook versions includes the video clips used in the workshop.

Use this version of the participant guide if you wish to access the full functionality of the guide, including the ability to view the workshop videos. This version only works on the iPad.
The eBook for the iPad is now available in the iBookstore. To download the eBook touch:
Use the PDF version if you do not have an iPad, or if you wish to use PDF annotations tools such as iAnnotate or GoodReader to make annotations on the PDF file.
Use the PDF version to print the participant guide.
